500 Internal Server Error when installing X-cart

If you get a 500 Internal Server error when trying to install x-cart, chances are the permissions are set too high.

X-cart's instructions say to set permissions on the x-cart directory to 777, however, our servers will not allow you to run scripts in a directory others can write to. Change the permissions back to 755, and the installation should run without a glitch.

If you're still getting an internal server error, please log into cpanel to check your error log for more information, and contact us if you need further help.
