How do I make an Add-On Domain for my website?

I want to have a domain name point to a folder inside my main site. I want the domain to be seperate from my MAIN account, but I don't want to have TWO accounts as I am the only person updating both sites.

An addon domain is a domain name that that points to a subdirectory within your account. For example, you may want onlinesales.com to point to business.com/onlinesales/. Addon domains must be registered domain names that you own and configured to point to your web site's servers.

To add a domain to your web site:

1) Log into Cpanel. If your site is www.yoursite.com, go to yoursite.com/cpanel and enter your login information. Click on the Addon Domains button on the home page.

2) Enter the domain name in the New Addon Domain field. If your new domain is www.newdomain.com, enter 'newdomain.com' in this box.

3) Add the directory that the addon domain points to in the Username/directory name field. If you want the site files to be in a directory called 'new' type 'new' in this field.  ** Please note, this directory must NOT currently exist; the add-on domain feature must create one for you. Also, you do not need to specify a path to a directory. The slashes here simply mean 'or'.

4) Enter a password for the domain in the password field (for ftp accounts and what not)

5) Click on the Add button. You will get a series of messages; and the last part will tell you whether the domain was added successfully. If it was, upload your files to the new folder. You will then be able to add email addresses, check stats, etc. for the new domain.
